Turbine Lancair Legacy
Still in development, this Legacy is the predecessor to the Twin Turbo Legacy this will be an amazing aircraft, hogging a Pratt and Whitney PT6-20 with 550 SHP
Background
This Legacy was birthed from the need for more power and speed. When the first legacy wasn’t enough for the owner, they contacted us about building a lighter and faster aircraft, and we happily agreed! This is one of the last race legacy’s built by Lancair, and we are making sure it lives up to it’s name.
The Build
The kit itself was bought from lancair and shipped to Canada. The airframe was built by Advanced Composite Structures in Winnopeg where the modifications to the firewall -among others- were made. after completing the airframe in late January of 2020, the Legacy was driven from Winnopeg to Calgary on a trailer in the middle of a snow storm. At this point, she is anxiously awaiting the spring because all of the flight controls are almost fully implemented, and instraments are also up and running.
