THE LEGEND GETS AN UPGRADE!!

The Legend first flew with a Walter M601-D engine and was a phenomenal performer, but in the ongoing quest for ultimate performance, we have now grafted a Garrett TPE331-10 engine to the nose (a mere 1070 Hp).

With a climb rate of 10,000+ feet per minute and a cruise speed of 350 ktas the plane has truly become a LEGEND.

Getting a feel for the hurricane!

During engine setup it was necessary to do some full power ground runs.

Note that the tie down straps are anchored to the engine mount.

Even with someone holding the brakes, we could not get quite to 100% without dragging the truck.

Below is the Legend with the original Walter engine.

The Legend in Flight. The plane is rock solid in all flight modes and an absolute joy to fly.

The Legend as it sits on the ramp. It attracts a lot of attention every time we bring it out.

The original Legend kits were produced by Performance Aircraft. The company has since stopped producing the kit and the whole program has been picked up by Lanny Rundell and renamed LEGEND Aircraft Inc.
